Sotano

Offering Mediterranean fare with a gorgeous view, Sotano is known for good food – and it comes with a seaside breeze, too! The restaurant is easy to find as it counts the Mouille Point Lighthouse as one of its neighbours. Open from around 7am, Sotano definitely has brunch on the menu. For something delicious, try the salmon benedict breakfast – it’s a firm favourite with regulars. Whether you want to pop in and grab a flat white before heading to the bus, or before a stroll on the promenade, head to Sotano for a relaxed seaside vibe,.

Newport Market & Deli

There’s nothing quite like starting your day with a fresh cuppa and a healthy sandwich, especially if you have a lot of sightseeing to do! This quaint deli is perfect for a pit stop while you wait for the next red bus to come around. Grab some treats or freshly baked bread to take home, or just watch the ebb and flow of the crowd. Newport is close to the Green Point Urban Park, so a walk is definitely on the cards if you feel like it. The spacious venue is great for kids, too, so don’t worry about your little ones getting bored. Doors open at 6.15am, so early birds can get their fix.

Manga

One of the newer additions to the Beach Road strip, Manga takes a cue from its Japanese name and serves authentic Asian fare. However, the brunch menu is varied. Customers can choose from traditional breakfast options such as an English-style fry-up, home-made muesli for the health conscious, or deep-fried eggs with sausages and potato for carb-lovers. If you’re feeling adventurous, try a Hawaiian poke bowl, a popular trend with foodies and locals alike. Doors open at 11.30am during the week and 8.30am on weekends.

The café also keeps tourists or travellers in mind, offering mobile chargers, free Wi-Fi for customers and outdoor seating to soak up the view. Enjoy a coffee (or cocktail), some live music and ease into the day with the Strolla team. Doors open at 7am Monday to Sunday.
