The BEST way to see Table Mountain and Cape Town
We have been lucky to have used the Red Bus tours in many cities in many parts of the world. Not all worldwide Red bus tours are true value for money and it pays to be selective before shelling out your money.
The Red Bus in Capetown offers value for money. It is well priced!
Many travelers use the Red Bus to reach the cable car lower station for Table Mountain. Then after seeing the mountain, continue their tour around the remainder of the city. We did this and then the following day we bought another Red Bus tour to see the surrounding countryside and beaches. There is an option to buy the two Red Bus routes on the one ticket ( saves money).
Summary; A good way to move around and well worth the money. Be careful of the sun on the top deck. Staff are helpful too.

The red topless hop-on-off bus must be the ultimate way to see Cape Town! What a pleasure to sit back, not worry about the traffic, take the incredible views & simple get off wherever & for how long you want & then hop back on! We especially enjoyed the wine route & hope to see it extended!
I rarely go on these sort of trips as we are normally self sufficient with a hire vehicle, however following pressure form my wife we opted for the Blue mini peninsula tour which I would highly recommend, we stopped at Hout Bay and Camps Bay with both offering up a variety of experiences which made the trip that bit more enjoyable. The red route is the city tour and drops you at Table Mountain, I found it hugely beneficial to get my bearings for our coastal drive later in our trip so very worthwhile.
