As we've launched our exciting new Rosebank stop, here are some of the best restaurants and bars to visit around this cosmopolitan suburb of Johannesburg.

Level Four Restaurant

This sophisticated restaurant, open for lunch and dinner, offers contemporary fine dining, as well as fabulous afternoon high teas. The champagne bar features an extensive wine list and range of cocktails, making this a preferred destination for pre-dinner drinks or sundowners. Dine inside in elegant surroundings, or head for the appealing outdoor terrace.

Its spectacular views of surrounding Johannesburg make this place even more special. If you’re lucky enough to find the table next to the outdoor pool vacant, enjoy your meal or drinks there.

Katzy's

This old-style cigar lounge in the heart of Rosebank offers a great selection of whiskeys, cognacs and, of course, cigars. Open for dinner only, the menu is that of the famous Grillhouse steakhouse on the same premises. Head to Katzy's for its five-nights-a-week live acts, ranging from local bands to international acts. You'll be dancing the night away.

Marble

This light, airy and rustic open-plan restaurant is perfect if you're looking for a modern venue to enjoy South African cuisine and some pretty mindblowing cocktail concoctions, such as the Grigio Fumo, comprising bacon-infused bourbon, maple syrup and bitters.

The restaurant has a grand wood-fired grill as focal point, and award-winning chef David Higgs's culinary creations are not to be missed.
