The garden, founded in 1913, lies on an estate that covers 528ha and supports diverse fynbos species and natural forest. The beautiful Peninsula Garden contains some of the 2 500 plant species endemic to the Cape Peninsula.

Go for a long, leisurely walk through the gardens, enjoy a traditional high tea at the popular Kirstenbosch Tea Room or stroll around the garden’s famous cycad arboretum.

World of Birds (stop 22)

While there are more than 3 000 bird species to see at Hout Bay’s World of Birds sanctuary, this conservation- and education-focused haven also offers a home to reptiles such as rock monitors and tortoises, and mammals including monkeys, meerkats, porcupines and baboons.

Camps Bay (stop 8)
