This spot on Beach Road with prime views of the promenade usually bustles with patrons looking to cool down after a run or a walk. In the mood for a full breakfast, pizza or burger? Harvey’s at Winchester Mansions

Winchester Mansions is an institution on lively Beach Road, offering plush accommodation and its own eatery, Harvey’s. The restaurant is known for its high teas and has a distinct upmarket feel. Newport Market & Deli

There’s nothing quite like starting your day with a fresh cuppa and a healthy sandwich, especially if you have a lot of sightseeing to do! This quaint deli is perfect for a pit stop while you wait for the next red bus to come around. Grab some treats or freshly baked bread to take home, or just watch the ebb and flow of the crowd. Newport is close to the Green Point Urban Park, so a walk is definitely on the cards if you feel like it. One of the newer additions to the Beach Road strip, Manga takes a cue from its Japanese name and serves authentic Asian fare. However, the brunch menu is varied. Strolla

Near the end of Beach Road, Strolla Restaurant & Bar is nestled among apartment buildings and passengers ready to start their day. This is a great halfway spot to hop off the red bus – you’re still close to the promenade and the beauty that is Bantry Bay if you want to explore on foot. The café also keeps tourists or travellers in mind, offering mobile chargers, free Wi-Fi for customers and outdoor seating to soak up the view. Enjoy a coffee (or cocktail), some live music and ease into the day with the Strolla team. Doors open at 7am Monday to Sunday.
