Did you know South African pensioners can get a 50% discount on our Classic ticket for the City Sightseeing open-top red bus on Tuesdays and Fridays? Did you also know that many attractions along our bus routes have amazing specials on these days?

Make the most of our pensioner special with a great day out in Cape Town. Combine your red bus trip with these discounts en route:

Free entry at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden: Tuesdays

No wonder this botanical garden is famous across the world – it showcases the unparalleled diversity and beauty of the South African floral kingdom. The garden, founded in 1913, lies on an estate that covers 528ha and supports a diverse fynbos flora and natural forest. Also featured is a Peninsula Garden, which contains some of the 2 500 plant species found on the Cape Peninsula.

Go for a long leisurely walk through the gardens, enjoy a traditional high tea at the Kirstenbosch Tea Room or enjoy the garden’s famous cycad arboretum.

Free parking at the V&A Waterfront: Monday to Friday

With the V&A Waterfront’s pensioner special, you won’t even have to worry about where you’re going to leave your car while exploring. Simply visit the V&A Waterfront information kiosk to apply for a parking voucher and you’ll be able to use any parkade at the V&A Waterfront for free!

Please note this special is valid Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm.

A meal and a round trip at the Table Mountain Cableway for R100: Fridays

No trip around Cape Town is complete without visiting Table Mountain. Be sure to take a guided tour at the top of one of the world's New7Wonders of Nature to make the most of your visit. Also, keep your eyes peeled for critters such as dassies, porcupines, grysbok, mongooses and tortoises, which can all be spotted on the mountain.

With the Table Mountain Cableway’s pensioner special, a meal is also included at the top of this iconic landmark!

How to claim your pensioners’ discount

Please note that to qualify for any of the attractions listed above (including your red bus ticket), you need to present your South African ID in person.

About City Sightseeing’s pensioner special:

South African pensioners can get a 50% discount on our Classic ticket on Tuesdays and Fridays, which means you'll pay R100 for a ticket that usually costs R200. The offer is also valid if a public holiday falls on a Tuesday or Friday. Pensioners also get a R20 discount on a Waterfront Harbour Cruise ticket (usually R45) on these days. Be sure to plan your route here.

You can hop on the bus at any stop, but remember to bring your barcoded South African ID along to qualify for the special. Please note that pensioner special tickets aren't available online.
