SPOTTED AT THE AQUARIUM!
Silver the Shark and Terminator the Seal
Silver the Shark and Terminator the Seal, the Aquarium mascots, are certainly being spotted all over Cape Town.  Dressed in full soccer gear – of course! Recently the Red Open Bus had the privilege of hosting them on board – all the way to Table Mountain!  Make sure you take time to meet Silver & Terminator these holidays – your best bet is at the Two Oceans Aquarium!

WHAT ANIMAL WAS SPOTTED ON TABLE MOUNTAIN THIS MONTH?
 Ground Woodpecker
Did you know that the GROUND WOODPECKER is 1 of only 3 ground dwelling woodpeckers in the world and the largest woodpecker in South Africa?  It lives on the barren, steep slopes of the mountain.
The woodpecker feeds on a highly specialized diet of ants. The ants are extracted from ants nests, dead wood or between  rocks with the woodpeckers long, sticky tongue.  It does not nest in trees, but digs out burrows in the ground. The chicks are cared for by both parents.
WHAT I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE RED BUS
Red Bus Knowledge
Our RED CITY TOUR is the best place to meet fans from all over the world! Daily we are hosting people from France, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, England, Algeria, Australia, Germany, Portugal and many other nations. A great time to learn all the different flags of the nations! It is even more fun practicing to greet people in their home language! Simply hop aboard to be part of the fun!

FACTS ABOUT CAPE TOWN
Union Castle Liner
The historic building of the head office of the Union Castle Liner is situated in the heart of the VA& Waterfront. The Union Castle was a well- known fleet of passenger liners and freighters between Europe and Africa from 1900 - 1977.  Today the building contains, amongst others, the Maritime Centre, which features a collection of ship models and objects associated with shipping in Cape Town.
