SPOTTED at the AQUARIUM
Ayoba the African penguin: Ayoba is one of 12 African penguins that call the Two Oceans Aquarium home. Ayoba looks different from the other penguins because he is still a juvenile. He has blue-grey feathers and must still grow a bit before he will get the black and white feather-coat of an adult penguin. Ayoba lives on the Sappi River Meander beach with the rest of the colony which includes his mom, dad and best friend, Zuki.
SPOTTED on TABLE MOUNTAIN
Cape Cobra spotted at the Lower Cable Station on Table Mountain
There’s nothing quite like a Cape cobra to get the adrenaline flowing! In the Cape, we have more than 20 snake species, and only five of these are deadly. Cape cobras are on of the venomous snakes that can be found on Table Mountain, alongside the puff adder, berg adder, rinkhals, black mamba and boomslang. Snake handler, Deon van Zyl came to the Lower Cable Station to, er, handle the problem. The cobra was safely taken away and released back into the wild…far away from us!
FACTS about Cape Town
Iziko Museum has reopened the doors of Bertram’s House to the public.
Situated at the top of Government Avenue, this house is the only remaining example of the English Georgian-style brick houses once so common in Cape Town. Built in about 1839 by the English immigrant and notary John Barker, its subsequent owners reflect the society of 19th century Cape Town.
FACTS about the Red Bus
Newly launched on our Blue Mini Peninsula Tour is the Wine Tour. Visit Groot Constantia, explore the Manor House, walk through the vineyards or enjoy a scrumptious lunch at either Jonkerhuis or Simon’s. On your return to Constantia Nek, don’t forget to have delicious tea and scones on the patio of the Constantia Nek Restaurant, before hopping back on to the next Blue Tour Bus. Read More on this Stop
