With Spring in the air Cape Town is filled with a sense of reawakening as the city literally comes alive. Longer, warmer days and increasingly balmy evenings give a hint of the African summer to come.
The Mother City’s events calendar is starting to fill up – the city is abuzz with some wonderful happenings on the cards for the coming weeks – some within the borders of the city and others slightly further afield. With them come a series of exciting outdoor sports events to get you moving.
Also, a noteworthy happening in September, in preparation for those hot beach-going days, is International Coastal Cleanup Day on the 28th of the month, and for those that wish to do their bit, read below about the beach clean up happening in conjunction with the Two Oceans Aquarium.
The 24th of September sees South Africans celebrating Heritage Day, a public holiday that celebrates the cultural diversity of this beautiful country. City Sightseeing wish everyone a wonderful day with friends and family - a rainbow nation celebration!
So, as the weather improves and we all start to get out and about again, join City Sightseeing - we will partner you through a unique Cape Town experience - and ensure that you see the best that the city has to offer.

A FANTASTIC FOOTBALL FRIDAY IN CAPE TOWN Waking up on Friday morning in Cape Town
I was filled with contrasting emotions. On the one hand I was hopefully
going to be getting my car back after having to endure eight weeks of
pure frustration (don’t even ask!!), and on the other I was excited by
the realisation that the weather was great, I would be spending an hour or so climbing a gorgeous mountain, and I would be seeing the inside of Cape Town Stadium with the naked eye for the first time. So all in all a great day in store in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Read more here

A FEW INSIDER TIPS ON THINGS YOU REALLY SHOULD SEE THAT WILL MAKE YOUR VISIT TO THIS LOVELY CITY EVEN BETTER…
...................................................
Take a hike
With the weather warming up as Spring arrives and leads us towards Summer, why not take a full moon hike up Lions Head. One of the most popular attractions in Cape Town - practically a tradition!
Head up just before sunset and enjoy a picnic overlooking truly spectacular scenery whilst the full moon rises to light your way back. Lion's Head is situated between Cape Town's famous Table Mountain and Signal Hill, and forms part of the dramatic backdrop to the city.
In the 17th century Lion's Head was called Leeuwen Kop by the Dutch, while Signal Hill was known as Leeuwen Staart (Lion's tail).
For the more adventurous, there is a strenuous hiking trail of approximately two hours that offers the best views of the city and overlooks Camps Bay and Sea Point.
For the more cautious or beginners, there is an alternative route, which will take a little longer but it is very much worth the effort!
In September the full moon is on Thursday the 23rd, with the moonrise at 19h00.
