Well, it is over but certainly not forgotten, the Soccer World Cup was a resounding success – congratulations to Brazil, and of course to Bafana Bafana, as well as everyone who contributed to this amazing, unforgettable event and for making us all so proud of our country!
Spring is around the corner and as we start to say goodbye to winter we begin to anticipate bright, crisp mornings, warm sun filled days and an abundance of blooms as the Cape bursts into colorful life! The Mother City is starting to shrug off its winter coat and there are some wonderful events on the cards – as you will see in our Hot and Happening events section below. Be sure not to miss the Atlantic Rail Open Day, Sunday 8 August, which promises a memorable day out for the entire family and at the same time, helps raise much needed funds for the preservation of South Africa’s steam rail heritage.
City Sightseeing also wish everyone celebrating Ramadan, Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur the very best over these special times.
So, as you feel the return of a spring in your step, come and join City Sightseeing for a unique Cape Town experience. We will do our utmost to make certain that your time spent in this beautiful, world class city is wonderful and memorable!

My day Horse Riding and celebrating at FIFA Fan Fest 6 July 2010.
Tuesday we decided to go horse-riding on Long Beach, Cape Town. We hired horses from Imoff Farm – what a fantastic experience. I used to horse-ride
when I was young, and didn’t know that I could ride there. The horse
was very well behaved and we had a truly lovely walk/trot/canter along
the beach.

TIPS
A few insider tips on things you really should see that will make your visit to this lovely city even better…
...................................................
Go walkabout in Hout Bay
When visiting Hout Bay on the Blue Mini Peninsula Tour, be sure to go on a walking tour of the vibrant, cosmopolitan and friendly township of Imizamo Yethu. Visit one of the township’s traditional African beer makers, which will give you the opportunity to taste Umqombothi (African beer made from maize, yeast, malt and water) which is drunk from a calabash. If hungry definitely try Joshua’s Tavern, a bustling and lively place with an abundance of township life, culture, music and taste some mouth watering African cuisine.
Also visit the Imizamo Yethu community centre where you can see people making mosaics and unique African dolls, amongst other things. Support them by buying some of their artwork and crafts.

District Six and the Museum
Get off the Red City bus at the District Six Museum, Stop 9 – for a tour of this small but fascinating museum that stands in remembrance of the community and area that was District Six before apartheid and the Group Areas Act changed it irrevocably.
