Cape Town you are ‘Wonder’ful
Guess what guys? Table Mountain has been named one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature. That means everyone around the world think Table Mountain is so cool they put a massive gold star on its forehead. The same way your teacher does when you do something cool.
To celebrate this we’ll be saying ‘Cape Town you are ‘Wonder’ful’ for the rest of December. Celebrate with us and take Mom and Dad on one of our new Canal Cruises at the Waterfront. After this you can visit the Two Oceans Aquarium that will be open ‘till 8pm from 19 December 2011.
Enjoy the holidays and we hope to see you soon on a City Sightseeing open-top bus!

SPOTTED on Table Mountain
|

|
These beautiful lizards live on rocky outcrops on the mountain slopes or between fields and meadows. They are hard to find, as they see you before you see them and so they rush into a deep unreachable crevice (a narrow crack or opening in the rocks).
Crag lizards are well adapted to survive freezing temperatures. Generally in summer, lizards emerge from their crevices from early to mid-morning, to bask while waiting in ambush for prey, returning to their crevices in the late afternoon.
Unlike most reptiles they produce live young and 3 or 4 babies are produced each year. Most South African lizards are insectivorous, but some, like the crag lizards, do include plant material in their diet.

SPOTTED at the AQUARIUM
|

|
|
Don’t miss the African Black Oystercatcher! Oystercatchers are only found on the coasts of Namibia and South Africa and feed differently depending whether they live on rocks or the sand. Oystercatchers that live on rocky shores feed mainly on mussels and limpets, while those found on sandy shores eat sand mussels. Estuarine oystercatchers typically eat cockles and pencil-bait.
Stay a little longer this year: From 19 December 2011 until 8 January 2012 the
Two Oceans Aquarium will be open from 09:00 – 20:00, except on Christmas day when they will close at 18:00.

FACTS about the Red Bus

Sometimes we like to think of our red bus as a playground on wheels. On the bus you get fun stuff: your own activity book, crayons and stickers. Tune into our special Kids Channel where Salty the Seagull, Blatjan the Baboon, Abie from the Kaap and Mandisa the Mongoose will entertain you for hours.
Remember to tell your fiends to join you in the Kids Club, and then on their birthday they will receive a voucher for them and 2 of their friends to travel on the bus for free (friends must be under 18).
