Their large diamond and fine jewellery manufacturing outlet and superb showroom is a world-class experiential shopping destination for tourists eager to learn about South Africa’s rich mineral wealth. The spectacular Jewel Africa showroom carries a vast range of top-quality loose diamonds, tanzanite and gemstones; as well as cutting-edge fine jewellery in gold, white gold and platinum. At any one time there are over 3000 pieces of stunning hand made jewellery available at Jewel Africa.

In fact, as much as 70% of the jewellery in the store is handmade on the premises where one can also watch the fascinating process of jewellery manufacturing and diamond cutting. If you prefer custom made or personalised pieces, then our jewellers, who’re constantly on site, can willingly produce these individual pieces overnight. You’ll also receive personalised input from a master diamond cutter and access to a wealth of fine jewellery knowledge.

With every jewellery purchase, Jewel Africa provides an insurance appraisal verifying the insurance value of the piece bought. In addition, most loose diamonds and tanzanite come with their own certificate, stating all relevant grades of quality. Jewel Africa’s master craftsman and diamond cutter, Richard Alston, guides visitors through a diamond cutting and polishing tour unveiling the intricate skills of diamond polishing, sharing the intriguing history and mystique of diamonds and teaching you best how to choose and purchase a diamond that is absolutely right for you. Visually experience the production process, enhanced with video, and observe chain making in its entirety. Another highlight is witnessing the pouring of a 9-carat gold bar.

The Jewel Africa African Emporium proudly sources and showcases unique sculptures and masks, many styles of jewellery, basketry, ceramics, carved chairs, embroidered or appliqué cloths, beadwork and traditional pottery as well as paintings.
