Do I have to start the Tour at the V&A Waterfront?

You can start the tour at any of the scheduled stops along the bus route.

Where can I purchase tickets for the Sightseeing Bus Tour?

There are three ways to buy your tickets:

  • on the bus, at any one of our scheduled stops along the way,
  • from our ticket office, situated at Stop 1 at the V&A Waterfront,
  • online

Do I have to make a reservation to join the tour?

No need to book, however buying tickets online entitles you to a discount.

What is the difference between the Red City Tour and the Blue Mini Peninsula Tour?

Red City Tour: this route provides a historical and factual overview of Cape Town, and includes a stop at Table Mountain.

Blue Mini Peninsula Tour: takes you on a scenic view of Cape Town with access to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and Hout Bay.

What are the running times for the Red City Tour? (Summer / Winter)

Summer: 1st Bus departs from Bus Stop 1, Two Oceans Aquarium at 09h00 with departures every 15 minutes.
Winter: 1st Bus departs from Bus Stop 1, Two Oceans Aquarium at 09h10 with departures every 20 minutes.

What is the Night Tour?

The Night Tour is available from 27 September to 10 April and departs daily from Bus Stop 1, Two Oceans Aquarium at 18h00. This is a non Hop On-Hop Off tour. Pack your picnic basket, blanket and sunglasses as this tour takes you on an unforgettable sunset trip up to Signal Hill. Returns at approximately 21h00.

› The Night Tour Ticket costs R 80-00 per adult.
› Children aged 5 - 15 is R450.
› Children under 5 are free. (2 children per 1 full-paying adult allowed)

What is the Canal Cruise?

The Canal Cruise is a Hop On-Hop Off boat trip along the channels of the V&A Waterfront. This 1-hour cruise has 5 Jetty Points that can be explored. The 5 Jetty\'s are: Two Oceans Aquarium, One & Only, City Lodge, Harbour Bridge and Cape Town International Convention Centre. This trip is a winner with kids of all ages and takes you through the ONLY working lock in South Africa.

› The 1-Day Valid Canal Cruise Ticket costs R 50-00 per adult.
› Children aged 5 - 15 is R25.

What is the Wine Tour?

The Wine Tour is an extension of the Blue Mini Peninsula Tour. The Wine Tour starts at Constantia Nek and takes you into Constantia Valley. Here you can explore two wine estates: Groot Constantia Wine Estate and Eagles\' Nest Wine Farm. 

› The Wine Tour is included at no cost in the Blue Mini Peninsula Tour
› Entrance fees and wine tastings and wine is for your own account.

What is the GO CAPE TOWN Card?

This is a non-refundable fast-track easy access card, valid for a single entry, over a period of 3 months (from date of purchase) to the following three top Cape Town attractions:

  • Table Mountain Cable Way
  • Two Oceans Aquarium

Will I miss all queues with my GO CAPE TOWN Card?

The GO CAPE TOWN Card entitles you to fast-track access at Table Mountain Cable Way and the Two Oceans Aquarium, thereby bypassing the ticket queue.
This is a non refundable card.
The voucher is only redeemable at City Sightseeing Ticket Office, Stop 1 or from our bus driver.

Where do you get on the bus with the GO CAPE TOWN Card?

At any one of our stops along the Red City Tour. This tour offers a historical and factual overview of Cape Town with a stop at Table Mountain. The Red City Tour differs from the Blue Mini Peninsula Tour, which offers a scenic overview of Cape Town with stops at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and Hout Bay. This tour is available at an additional cost of R120 per adult.
This is a non refundable card.
The voucher is only redeemable at City Sightseeing Ticket Office, Stop 1 or from our bus driver. 

Can the GO CAPE TOWN Card be bought from City Sightseeing Cape Town?

Yes, cards are available

  • on our buses, from the driver at any one of our stops,

Do I have to use all options of the GO CAPE TOWN Card on 1 day?

 No, the GO CAPE TOWN Card is valid for 3 months, allowing you single entry to each of the 3 venues:

  • one entry onto the City Sightseeing Red City Tour as a 1-Day ticket (insert link to top where red city tour is explained)
  • one entry to Table Mountain Cable Way
  • one entry to Two Oceans Aquarium

Can I use the bus to get to the Two Oceans Aquarium and Table Mountain Cable Way and then get back on the bus again with my GO CAPE TOWN Card?

Yes, the Red City Tour 1-Day valid ticket gives you access to the bus for the entire day, allowing you to hop-on and hop-off at the various stops:

  • Stop 1 Two Oceans Aquarium,
  • Stop 13 Table Mountain Cable Way,
  • and all other Stops along the Red City Tour route.

What is the quickest way to get to Table Mountain using your bus?

We have an Express Cableway Bus departing from STOP 1, V&A Waterfront at 08H30.
The first RED CITY TOUR departs the V&A waterfront at 08H25
The last bus departs from STOP 1 at 17H15 

Where is the starting point with my GO CAPE TOWN Card?

There is no starting point. We recommend that you use the Red City Tour to take you to Table Mountain. This is a non refundable card.

What is the rate for Children and Pensioners?
