Once
in a Blue Moon
Full
moon happens once a month, however, a Blue Moon is the
name given to an ‘extra’ full moon that usually
only occurs every two or three years. December
sees the occurrence of a second full moon on the 31st
and, to add to the rarity of this event, a lunar
eclipse is also predicted for this day.
For a special experience try a full moon hike up Lions
Head and take along a picnic. The next full moon
dates are, 31 December, 30 January and 28 February
2010.

Pink Flamingo Cinema
South
Africa’s first rooftop cinema is situated on
the roof of the Grand Daddy Hotel at 38 Long
Street, Cape Town. Screening classic and

Don’t forget the basics – apply plenty of high
SPF sun-block, wear a wide-brimmed hat and

- Drink plenty of water – dehydration is deadly!

avoid swimming near rocks, piers, or jetties.
